What Makes Me Different: I Mature My Being Before My Ways

One thing that makes me different is that I matured my being before my ways.

Most people focus on the opposite.

They focus on the method.

The strategy.

The technique.

The system.

The appearance.

The position.

The title.

The business.

The relationship.

The outcome.

The ways.

But the ways are only as mature as the being operating them.

A person can have a sophisticated strategy and still be immature.

A person can have wealth and still be immature.

A person can have influence and still be immature.

A person can have power and still be immature.

A person can have knowledge and still be immature.

Life has shown us that repeatedly.

That is why I spent so much time developing the foundation before obsessing over the structure.

I wanted to know myself.

I wanted to understand my fears.

My contradictions.

My projections.

My strengths.

My weaknesses.

My desires.

My responsibilities.

My patterns.

My relationship with truth.

My relationship with power.

My relationship with love.

My relationship with failure.

My relationship with success.

Because I knew something important.

Wherever I went, I would take myself with me.

If the being remained undeveloped, every system I built would eventually inherit that immaturity.

Every relationship.

Every business.

Every project.

Every vision.

Every dream.

The cracks always travel from the foundation upward.

That is why my focus became the foundation first.

The being first.

The ways second.

The interesting thing is that people often mistake this stage for inaction.

They think nothing is happening.

They think no progress is occurring.

They think the person is behind.

What they fail to see is that roots grow before branches.

The invisible work comes before the visible work.

The architecture comes before the building.

The character comes before the responsibility.

The being comes before the ways.

And now I find myself in a different chapter.

The being has matured enough.

Not perfectly.

Never perfectly.

But sufficiently.

Sufficiently to carry larger responsibilities.

Sufficiently to carry larger visions.

Sufficiently to carry larger consequences.

Sufficiently to carry larger opportunities.

Which means the focus naturally shifts.

Now it is the ways that require maturity.

The business.

The infrastructure.

The execution.

The delivery.

The systems.

The commercial engines.

The organisations.

The applications.

The embodiment.

Not because the work on self ends.

It never truly does.

But because there comes a point where continued self-development without implementation becomes another form of avoidance.

The lesson has to leave the notebook.

The insight has to leave the conversation.

The framework has to leave the page.

The being must eventually express itself through mature ways.

That is where I am now.

The chapter of maturing the ways.

The chapter of taking everything that was developed internally and creating structures capable of carrying it externally.

Because a mature being with immature ways creates frustration.

And mature ways with an immature being create danger.

The goal is both.

A mature being.

And mature ways.

The foundation and the structure.

The roots and the branches.

The inner architecture and the outer architecture.

That is the transition I find myself in.

And perhaps that is what makes me different.

I did not start by asking how to build something big.

I started by asking whether the person building it could carry its weight.

Now that question has largely been answered.

And the attention turns toward the ways.

Now the ways must mature too.
