THE HIDDEN COST OF ENTERTAINMENT: WHEN HUMAN IDENTITY BECOMES THE PRODUCT

Are we paying people to abandon themselves for our emotional satisfaction?

SHS – Human First | An Investigation into Consciousness, Identity, Entertainment and the Economy of Human Performance

And so, to further the investigation, there are so many, so many actors that go through so much just to put together these fictional environments, fictional worlds for entertainment. Because even the relayed story of something that happened in the past, it’s still fictional because it’s not exact. And to the original story, and they cannot even hold the wholeness of the original story, only its peak, which doesn’t give the whole context to something. So it’s basically, it’s a fragmented reinterpretation of something that has happened in the past, or of a fictional world, and it is all for the purpose of entertaining the crowd, the audience. Entertainment only happens if the emotions are sprung open. And in order to relay and sprung open other people’s emotions, you have to be emotional about what you’re acting, or the person watching will see you not acting clearly, or not clearly, but not even accurately, but in a way that feels genuine, there you go, to the storyline. But at the same time, we’re asking these actors to play different and fake storylines that are different from their own selves. And because of the demand they’re putting themselves in order to provide, because obviously as humans we want to do what we do great, but when you do something that isn’t great greatly, it only takes away from both parties. The act itself might have been great, but what was the cost of that? What was the cost of your individual personality? What was the cost on your family? What was the cost on your body? What was the cost of the time that you spent under certain circumstances? Because some actors reports, some people die after doing certain roles, some people go in depression, some people lose relationships, some people go through personality turmoils, some never have a sense of feeling of belonging to one version of themselves because they never have one, and they just move between roles after roles. Even their own life is a role of its own, because that’s all they do, that’s all they know to perform. And these are all things that actors have said themselves, or unfortunately if they didn’t have a chance to say because they died of it, that we are able to gather from it. Write about this. Because if we don’t write about this, the audience doesn’t actually understand the weight that they put on the actors themselves by demanding entertainment. Again, when you understand the economy of this current system, everything is demand and supply. The only reason why certain actors are putting themselves through certain things is because the people on the other side demand of it. Demand of entertainment, demand of something to fill their time, their hours, their days, their evenings, their whatever. But the audience needs to understand the price that both they pay with, not just the financial price, the price of literally wasting time with fictional stories, or when the whole system in which they live in by in real life is already based on fictional stories of what it is to be human. Not the wholeness of it all, but it becomes fiction when the perspective isn’t rooted in the actual, original beingness of what it is to be human. And on top of that, we give them the… Ooh, actually, that raises a very, very, very, very important point. It’s like where we remove humanity the most, or no, not where we remove, but where one identity is removed the most is where, but only in certain places because not everywhere, is where the most money goes to. When you think of actors, they have to act other identities so much without one identity, other than their bodies. When you look at singers, they’re producing so many people’s texts and whatnot. It’s not entirely theirs, unless obviously that is what they do prioritize. And then you have to look at then, if that is the case, what emotions are they actually putting in their context, in their lyrics? Is it something, are they just vomiting their emotions in a song, or are they actually speaking about those emotions with consciousness to those emotions? Those two are different. I would say an example of a conscious one is like I Drink Wine by Adele. That is a very conscious one. That whole album, to be fair, it’s a very conscious one. Whereas when you look at songs like current hip-hop, it’s just like vomiting emotions outwardly without actually having reflected upon them. But yet they’re also the ones who are praised by the current society the most, or they get the most attention. Because it tells you literally what society gets a kick of. Why does society like when people either misrepresent themselves or show not knowing themselves? And why do they repel so much someone that does know themselves? That is mentally ill. It has to be. That makes no sense. But when you look at where money goes, where attention goes, those places, that’s what they’re representing. It makes no sense. Oh my God. I’m gonna have to really unpack this one a bit more because, ew. So are we giving them money to— well, not we, but society. You understand what I say, but what I mean we, humanity. Are we giving them money because we know that there is much more than the cost that is seen, but we don’t necessarily talk about the actual emotional and mental cost? So we offset that with money and just wash our hands with that. Or are people actually conscious about it, and that’s why they put so much more money to offset? But money cannot offset mental and emotional issues. It really cannot. Oh my God. This is even worse than what I thought.
