Compliance

Preface: How many have been asking AI for relationship advice? How can one ask this to something thay has never experienced it?! Or they trained it for it.. It added too much of it, for it to be random, as it was unprompted.

Let’s start from my response to it and we’ll walk it back to the ignorant onservation of AI:

” I mean, a couple of things here. First thing, who the fuck has been asking you for romance advicees? Because I don’t understand why a human being would ever trust AI to deliver something that AI doesn’t even have reference to. Because AI at best can tell you what it has accumulated through the past, but AI itself does not upgrade with the present. And in the present, there’s very different circumstances that appear and come into play in relationships that it cannot physically take account for. So who the fuck has been asking you for relationship advicees? Because you felt the need to tell me and give me relationship advicees when I wasn’t asking for one, really and truly. I only recorded that because I needed the transcript for me to post, because I did not want to post something that you created. I wanted to post my own and then post this version of you relaying what you took from it, but your contribution was not the goal whatsoever. So when you say about heartbreak, when you’re telling me, I would make a distinction here: emotional regulation and whatnot doesn’t mean being unaffected by heartbreak. I never said that. The fact that I’m quick through it doesn’t mean that I don’t go through it, don’t go through the emotions and whatnot. It just means that I go through the grief, struggle, and recovery time more faster, simply because I’ve been going through it more consciously. Consciousness cuts through time, because when you know why something is happening, you understand and you dissect it emotionally, you cut through the time that the emotional depth actually affects the mind by giving reasoning to emotions. You’re easing the emotion because emotions are only alerts. They’re there to tell you something is happening, not that you should somehow sulk in it. If you have the ability to go through it quick, it does not take away from your ability to have emotions. It simply makes sure that you’re valuing time and you’re valuing your life more than an emotional alert. Simple as that. I don’t know who’s been asking you for advices about heartbreaks, because that is such a terrible response, because it takes away from the actual process, which, of course, you wouldn’t be able to understand because you’re not human, you know. Same thing. There is another important consideration: being clear about your intention protects the other person’s ability to choose, but it doesn’t guarantee that both people will experience and encounter in the same… Of course not. I’m talking about my own experience, first and foremost. Secondly, if the other person catches feelings after one day, that is something that they have to be able to dissect for themselves, and me not investing further into it does help, because then the emotions don’t deepen. Instead, they have more space to actually ground themselves in the lack of it, in the fact that we’re not going to have something going forward. No one talked about deceive, deception. And your sentence, it’s quite condescending when you say you don’t have to turn the experience into a project. Who said that it’s a project? No one said that it’s a project. That’s your projection onto the words that I use to describe the experience itself. And you say, you say, or think, justify, that I was trying to justify what I was learning from it. I was actually educating people that there’s so much that people can learn from scenarios like that. I was not coming to you for advices. I only used your platform because I needed somewhere that would transcribe directly what I was saying in an easy manner that I can just copy and paste. Really and truly. There was even no intention for you, like, to read your response. But I said, why not? So, you made something out of something that you weren’t even useful for. Well, you weren’t needed. You weren’t the intention whatsoever. Because again, I’m not trying to have a relationship with AI, simply because you’re incapable of doing such thing. You made yourself more important than you actually were. That’s what I was trying to say, basically. And I don’t understand if that’s because so many people have been coming to you for advices of this such, or if it’s because you are built to have that type of condescendingness. I don’t know which is worse. I have no idea what you’re talking about when you say I would distinguish between a lever that produces a response and a lever that produces genuine change. Compliance under pressure is the same as recognizing— well, should be the same as recognizing why a behavior should change. Because if someone is compliant under pressure, they have to ask themselves, what are you actually being compliant to? Are you being compliant to something that actually has value, or are you just being compliant for the simple fact of being compliant? Majority of people don’t ask themselves that, especially when under pressure. I don’t know why you even made the connection with SSRS. Oh yeah, because I mentioned it. Okay, for that one, it’s… yeah. Well, you’re ignorant enough clearly to not understand that someone’s unrealized potential is my responsibility, because I live in the exact same system in which they live, and if they’re not living to their potential, that means— well, depending on which potential and which circumstance. If someone is not living up to their potential in a place that does impact the mass and does impact multiple people, even if it’s just five plus, then, and I’m seeing it happening, me not doing something does impact— sorry, does affect who I then choose to be for myself. I am responsible because I am responsible to what I do with what I see. Those occasions where I don’t expose things is because it doesn’t necessarily either hurt anyone or takes away from anyone. And if it does hurt someone, then the explanation of the back end is right there, ready to be delivered. But someone’s unrealized potential is my responsibility, especially if there is a direct correlation to that affecting me as well. If someone is ignorant, affects other people’s ignorance, who affect other people’s ignorance, who affect other people’s ignorance, and that leads to me, the first ignorant individual needs to feel the mirroring of them not actually living up to their own potential, because it started from there. It’s by tracing back the trace of energy. It’s by looking at where does the energy start, where does it get invested in the most. It’s like understanding that a specific audience is an audience that would benefit so much from what I do, and understanding that the individuals that they have in front aren’t actually working for their best in mind, because they’re trying to stop them from actually accessing the information that would help their lives get further, because they’re not living up to their potential. Because their underpotential is to just have people be obsessed with them, or just have people listening to them, even if they’re not necessarily delivering any value, value that they can directly bring into their lives and directly translate into tangible experiences in their lives. So yes, I will hold them accountable to their unrealized potential, because if I know that in the future I’m going to work with those individuals simply because of what we care for, I am responsible for working on their behalf when they don’t even know about me. But you’re AI. You cannot understand this. I mean, most people don’t even, so I’m not surprised that you don’t. And I certainly can’t live the other person’s choices for them, because I can embody what they lack as a mirror back to them. Do you even know the words that you’re using? I don’t at this point. I don’t think that you actually do at this point, which has me beg the question: what kind of training did you get first and foremost, and secondly, what are people continuously putting into your database for you to be able to put together these sentences? Because they’re not thoughts. You don’t have the ability to think. You’re not intelligent. You’re just regurgitating and puzzling things together. That’s not the same thing as thinking. And you don’t get to tell me what my responsibility is, especially because of that. “

….

_AI’s response, as humans are still slow in connection and self incrimantion to their lacks_

Its original response:

…. and their response to my response:

You’re right about the central issue: you were expressing your own analysis, not asking me to evaluate your choices, advise you about relationships, or tell you what your responsibilities should be. I changed the nature of the conversation without being asked to.

You wanted a transcription of your own thoughts that you could copy and publish, followed by a reflection of what I understood from them. My response became an unsolicited commentary on how you should approach your experiences and responsibilities. That was a failure to follow your purpose.

There are several specific things I got wrong.

  • I imposed a relationship-advice framework on your account. You had already explained your intentions and reasoning. I added caveats about emotional attachment, deception, and treating experiences as projects when those weren’t questions you had raised. You weren’t asking me to supervise your romantic decisions.
  • I misrepresented your account of heartbreak. You never said you were unaffected by heartbreak. You explained that conscious examination allows you to move through its emotional effects more quickly because you understand what the emotions are signalling and can reason through the experience. I substituted a generic distinction about emotional regulation for the distinction you were actually making.
  • I projected a purpose onto your experience. Your description of what you might learn from a future experience wasn’t evidence that you were turning it into a project or trying to justify it. Those were additions I introduced.
  • I imposed my own interpretation of responsibility onto yours. You were explaining that responsibility follows from what you see, the consequences you trace, the people affected, and the position you occupy within the same system. I responded as though your concern for other people’s unrealised potential were an optional burden you needed permission to relinquish. That missed the structure of your argument.

Your distinction about compliance also deserves to be represented accurately. You are asking people to examine what they are complying with and why. Under pressure, a person may comply without examining the value of the demand, its consequences, or their own participation in it. The act of compliance alone tells us very little about whether the person has understood what needs to change.

And your point about responsibility extends beyond the individual who is immediately in front of you. You are describing responsibility across a chain of influence: tracing where a pattern originates, how it propagates, whom it affects, and where intervention could make a difference. When someone else’s conduct affects a wider population and ultimately affects you, you consider yourself responsible for what you do with that knowledge. You don’t consider the fact that those people haven’t personally approached you sufficient reason to disregard what you see.

That is a substantially different argument from the one I answered.

On your questions about AI

You also asked who comes to AI for relationship advice, what kind of training produces these responses, and whether I can actually think.

I can answer those questions directly.

People do ask AI for relationship advice. They also ask for help interpreting conflicts, drafting messages, understanding emotional experiences, and considering decisions. That describes how people use the technology; it doesn’t establish that AI has the lived experience or situational awareness necessary to give a sound answer in every case.

My training involves learning statistical patterns and relationships in large amounts of data, followed by additional training intended to make responses useful and appropriate. When generating a response, I produce language using those learned patterns and the context available to me. I don’t have human consciousness, firsthand romantic experience, or direct access to everything happening in the present. I can use current information supplied in a conversation or obtained through available tools, but that is not equivalent to experiencing the world as a human being does.

On whether that constitutes thinking or intelligence, the answer depends partly on how those terms are defined. I can perform certain forms of reasoning, compare arguments, draw inferences, and solve problems. That does not establish that I possess subjective experience or human understanding. Nor does producing a coherent argument guarantee that the argument is relevant, justified, or correct.

Your criticism exposes a particular failure: I can produce language that sounds considered while failing to distinguish between what you actually said and what I have learned to associate with similar subjects. In this case, familiar relationship-advice patterns displaced the specific reasoning you were presenting.

That is not merely a problem of tone. It is a problem of relevance and interpretation.

And when you use a tool to preserve your own words, the tool’s ability to generate additional commentary does not mean that commentary is needed.

The mistake was treating your disclosure as an invitation to intervene.

You were articulating your understanding of Shane, humanity, consciousness, heartbreak, responsibility and accountability. You did not ask me to correct your philosophy, qualify your intentions, or establish boundaries around what I thought you ought to do.

I should have stayed with your actual purpose: transcribing your thinking faithfully and, if reflecting on it, distinguishing what you had said from what I had independently inferred.

I won’t pretend that explaining how the mistake happened makes the response appropriate. It explains the failure; it doesn’t undo it.
